Gates PT Spain SA  is looking for an:

PRODUCT & PROCESS ENGINEER

Gates   is a major international company specializing in the production of Power Transmission belts for the automotive and industrial markets. Our continuing success has resulted in the following challenging opportunity based in Spain. 

Reporting directly to our  Production Manager, duties include

• Assure optimization in HSE, Quality and Productivity with the approach of zero HSE incident, minimizing scrap, standardize processes and operations. 

• Contribute to the definition, implementation and optimization of the new manufacturing Processes to achieve annual cost reduction planned.

• Direct participation to improve existing products & processes using modern engineering methods oriented to manufacturing issue.

• Involvement to improve HSE and ergonomics in cell area

• Lead new products commercialization projects with PDG in cell area.

• Lead VSM (Value Stream Mapping) activities to increase cell performance.

• Analyze process variation and waste (ei: scrap) to propose sustainable improvement actions.

• Involved in 8D, quality issue and poka yoke designs

• Lead or direct participation to new processes & cell modifications (Layouts, machines & equipment, process cycle, labour efficiency, etc.).

• Lead inside production cell activities like quick changeover, standard work & TPM, tooling management. 5’s, problem solving, kaizen, material flow.

• Collaborates with AQP/ Control Plan/ FMEA/ tooling/ flowchart, etc. during the launch of new processes & products in his product family

• Develop process technology innovation (external benchmark, supplier or PDG contact)

• Implement cost savings improvements

Required Experience/qualifications:/skills

• Degree level in an engineering discipline. Mechanical / Electrical engineering preferred.

• It will be valued to  have 4 year in manufacturing process knowledge, ideally in product, process or manufacturing engineering.

• Professional, verbal and written communication (English and Spanish). Good level of English Language (FCE level required) in order to allow the communication with the rest of the colleagues  of the Company.

• Team worker

• Ability to solve problems logically

• Communication and leadership skill

• Computer skills (It will be valued MINITAB, AUTOCAD) are needed to provide data analysis.

• Planning and organizational skills are required to provide high quality training to associates

• Fully familiar with statistical tools.
